Gabe Valdez was a New Mexico state patrol officer assigned to areas plagued with cattle mutilations and UFO sightings. He investigated these mutilations and has come to some unique conclusions that he believes he has seen sufficient proof to support. Valdez also worked with Paul Bennewitz and retired Air Force Intelligence officer, Richard Doty, the two people who started the rumors that there was a joint Human-Alien secret base under the Archuleta Mesa just outside of Dulce, NM. James Moseley has been interested in UFOs since the beginning of the modern era of Ufology in 1947 when Kenneth Arnold had his highly publicized sighting. Since then he has been a controversial figure, often focusing on the personalities and conflicts in UFO research. Beginning in 1954 he published a magazine called Saucer News for many years. Currently he sends out a newsletter called Saucer Smear. He says Saucer Smear is a humor and UFO-gossip journal for the “hard core” flying saucer buffs. Moseley will be sharing with us his history and his views on the hot UFO topics over the years.

63 years ago today the Roswell Daily Record ran a front page story regarding the recovery of a Flying Saucer by the Army that had been taken to the Roswell Army Air Field. Intelligence officer Jesse Marcel was the first military man to get a look at the material, and one of many at the Air Field to believe that the debris was not of this world. His testimony to researchers in 1978 sparked the public’s fascination with Roswell, and without it we may have never known about this extraordinary event. Open Minds sponsored the Roswell city anniversary celebrations, and had the honor of spending time with Marcel’s son, Jesse Marcel Jr. He gave us a tour of the city, pointing out the important landmarks while reminiscing about the debris his father had shown him, and what he knew about the incident from what his father and Roswell researchers had told him.
